Smart Practice is an independent consultancy providing easily accessible training, development, support and advice in general management for those engaged in the NHS Primary Care Sector.
Our services and products range from providing support and development for leaders in PCTs and GP Practices, to products and services to help GP Practice Managers and their teams deliver great patient service effectively and efficiently.
Training and development
It can be difficult and disruptive to take staff away from their day job for training and so we offer programmes that they can manage at their desks or at home through a series of workbooks. These modular programmes allow your staff to work at their own pace, towards certification in a wide range of personal and people management skills.
DSQS Workbook
The Dispensary Services Quality Scheme (DSQS) recommends a series of non-technical competencies in customer service, health and safety and team working, which staff should acquire to become proficient when working in the dispensary. We offer a range of similar workbooks for other staff including practice managers, receptionists and any other team members wanting to improve their people management or personal skills.
Traditional training and facilitation
Whilst workbooks are an appealing and cost-effective way of delivering training, we understand that sometimes you do need the interaction of a training session with the team or an actively facilitated away day, at a time that suits you. That is why we will offer traditional methods, at your practice or other venue that you organise. In the case of awaydays, we will even relieve the burden of the follow-up work by taking your ideas and notes from the day and creating a practice plan/strategy for you.
Leadership Development
Leading a team through change is often complicated and difficult. We can help your leaders with change management expertise, communications and performance management problems. Our leadership approach is grounded in seeing the problems through the eyes of those charged with the change and helping them focus their support around issues that are common to the whole organisation and outcomes that matter and will make a difference to customers and patients.
